Westminster College joined an elite group of 20 schools this month with its induction into the Associated New American Colleges.
The ANAC is a consortium of independent colleges and universities that focus on combining a "liberal" education, professional studies and civic engagement.
Westminster was commended by the ANAC for its recent partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute to establish the Intermountain West Regional Roots & Shoots program.
"Because there are so few private schools in the Intermountain West with similar missions, ANAC will provide Westminster with a national cohort of institutions which share our vision," said Westminster President Michael Bassis.
Other ANAC schools include Butler University, Drake University, Ithaca College and Valparaiso University.
