Helping hand

New Life Foundation — We are looking for volunteers to facilitate support groups for individuals suffering from anorexia and bulimia. Training provided. Background screening required.

Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company — Assist with season projects, events, receptions, office projects, pre- and post- performance activities. Hours vary. No later than 9:30 p.m.

Operation English — Teach English weekly to Hispanics. Bilingual or teaching experience useful but not necessary. Training provided.

Alzheimer's Association — Volunteers needed to help with the 2005 Utah Memory Walk on Sept. 17. Individuals and groups needed to fundraise and help with event activities.

Military Order of the World Wars — Volunteers needed Aug. 10-Sept. 22 to help with a patriotic ceremony at pre-game for the Air Force-Utah Football game.

Hospice Help — Volunteers needed to provide outreach to isolated and frail elderly in their home or in a hospice. Provide respite care, friendly visiting, run errands, take clients for walks and more. Training provided.

Ronald McDonald House — Small groups needed to provide and prepare dinner for 40 of our hospital-weary parents. We provide the kitchen and cookware. You provide the food.

Lupus — Volunteer administrative assistant needed to help file and write letters six to eight hours a week. Days are flexible. Knowledge of Excel and Word helpful.

American Red Cross — Volunteers needed to help with office support, scheduling, medical transcription, interpreters and more. Shifts vary. Days, evenings and weekends available.

Crossroads Urban Center's Community Food Co-op Projects — Help build a self-sustaining monthly food-purchasing cooperative designed to increase food security and build community. Volunteers needed throughout the Wasatch Front.

The Leonardo at Library Square — Volunteers needed to be docent (tour guide), sales, security, installation and more for the Exodus, a 300-piece photography exhibit by renowned documentary artist Sebastiao Salgado.
