HIGHLAND — Jay W. Franson filed to run for mayor of Highland, bringing the total number of candidates for the office to three.

Franson will compete against Blake B. Buhler and W. Jay Haws to replace Mayor Jess Adamson, who chose not to run for re-election.

Franson's wife, Gwyn, is currently a member of the Highland City Council, but her term expires at the end of the year, and she is not seeking re-election.

Jay Franson's name was not in the candidate list published in Monday's issue of the Deseret Morning News because of a miscommunication with the Highland City Recorder's Office.
