The fifth season of "I Love Lucy," one of the show's best, hits DVD on Tuesday, along with several other TV programs.

  • "I Love Lucy: The Complete Fifth Season" (CBS/Paramount, 1955-56, not rated, b/w, $54.99, four discs). In the penultimate season of this seminal sitcom, Lucy (Lucille Ball), Ricky (Desi Arnaz), Ethel (Vivian Vance) and Fred (William Frawley) spend some more time in Hollywood with a classic two-part episode that has Lucy trying to get John Wayne's concrete footprints. Later they travel to Europe, where we have, among other classic moments, the famous Lucy-and-Ethel grape-stomping sequence. Many of these shows are fall-down hilarious.

Extras: Full frame, 26 episodes, making-of featurettes, lost scenes, restored music, bloopers, animated segments, song selections, promo spots, five "My Favorite Husband" radio episodes, script excerpts, production notes, subtitle options (English, Spanish), chapters.

"The Andy Griffith Show: The Complete Third Season" (Paramount, 1962-63, not rated, b/w, $38.99, five discs). Andy Taylor (Andy Griffith), the sheriff of the small Southern town of Mayberry, his deputy Barney Fife (Don Knotts), his young son Opie (Ronny Howard) and motherly Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier) return for a third season, which also introduces a new regular, Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors). More family comedy from a gentler era, and Nabors kicks the goofiness up a notch.

Extras: Full frame, 32 episodes, chapters.

"Undeclared: The Complete Series" (Shout! 2001-02, not rated, $49.98, four discs). Zany comedy marks this critical favorite, which never quite caught on with viewers, hence its short life span on Fox TV. An 18-year-old (Jay Baruchel) who was a nerd in high school grows seven inches over the summer and hopes for a new start at an Eastern university. His father is played by musician Loudon Wainwright III, and his new roommates are a mix of goofballs. Guests include Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Fred Willard and Mary Kay Place

Extras: Full frame, 17 episodes, audio commentaries, deleted scenes, rehearsals, auditions, bloopers, Loudon Wainwright performance, cast-and-crew Q&A, unproduced script, optional English subtitles, chapters; 28-page booklet.
