Ogden Superintendent Cathy Ortega plans to retire next summer after spending over 30 years as a teacher and administrator in Ogden School district.
District spokesperson Debbie Hefner said the board will start the search for a new chief within the next month or so to replace Ortega next June.
Ortega will have been at her post as superintendent for three years next summer. Currently she is the only female district boss in the state.
