PINE VALLEY, Washington County — The search continues for a missing hiker who was due back from a weekend hiking trip Sunday.
More than 130 searchers have combed the trails of the Oak Grove area for Bryan Butas, 35. His car was found near the base of the trails at the campground, but Butas has not been heard from since he left Friday.
Friends say Butas is an experienced hiker but could have gotten himself into a situation he was unable to get out of. Officials say the area where he disappeared is very rugged and steep. Efforts have been halted several times by severe storms moving through the area.
The search for Butas is expected to continue through Saturday.
