Who: About 40 ranchers in Snake Valley, along the Utah-Nevada border, say the Southern Nevada Water Authority wants to export its water to Las Vegas.
What: The Snake Valley Citizens Alliance rancher group claims the water authority's plan will destroy the environment and ranchers' livelihoods.
When: Alliance members will run and caravan from Snake Valley to Salt Lake City, culminating at a demonstration at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the federal building.
The Other Side: The water authority says it isn't out to mine aquifers, harm the environment or ruin ranchers' way of life.
