The patents Bailey owns on his inventions are just provisional, and if he is unable to get them off the ground by December, he will lose them.

"I decided that I've sacrificed enough, and I can't sacrifice (my inventions) too," he said.

As for his political future, Bailey has not ruled out an eventual return to politics. He said he will not run for the full-time mayor job in this election.

"There's some thoughts that way, but I don't know. We'll see what plays," he said. For now, he plans to stay active in community affairs and help behind the scenes when able.

As for his legacy, Bailey said he hopes the residents of Eagle Mountain will remember him as their mayor.

"I hope they'll remember Kelvin Bailey as someone who truly cared about the people, who truly tried to represent the voice of that people."
