875 Wasatch students two-thirds of whom live outside school boundaries will create a "school within a school" at Churchill when classes start Aug. 29.
10 portables will be placed on Churchill's tennis courts.
The move will bring Churchill's enrollment to 1,555, or 95 percent capacity (including portables).
Wasatch and Churchill course offerings remain intact.
Wasatch will change from a seven-period day to an eight-period block schedule.
Teaching materials and textbooks have been ordered; Wasatch is at the top of the list to receive new district computers.
Wasatch's special-education SID unit will relocate to Olympus Junior High due to Americans with Disabilities Act issues.
The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind program will stay in the school.
Two or three buses may be needed to transport Wasatch students to Churchill; the district is studying the matter.
