Scientology is built upon inaccurate information. It claims 8 million members and says it is the fastest growing religion in the world. No credible documentation exists to support this information. In fact, most non-Scientology sources put the number in the 500,000 range. Also, Scientology numbers have diminished since peaking in the 1980s.
If Scientology is a "religion for everyone," why are the costs associated with it so high? These costs are often hidden from the public. Scientology makes a mockery of their non-profit status, and many European countries (including France and Germany) still do not recognize Scientology as a religion or a non-profit organization.
I believe in the freedom of speech and the protection of all religious beliefs, but I don't believe in defrauding people of money and distorting the truth. Scientology does both.
