Salt Lake County's associate director of the Department of Human Services will take over the newly created Administrative Services Department.

April Townsend will now lead the department, created by Mayor Peter Corroon to tighten fiscal controls over several divisions including Fleet, Real Estate, Facilities, Personnel, Contracts, Information Services, Printing and Telecommunications.

Townsend must still be confirmed by the county council before she assumes leadership of the new department. The Administrative Services Department will also have a fiscal manager to oversee its eight divisions.
