Elder Halverson sets genealogy talk

PROVO — Elder Ronald T. Halverson, a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be a keynote speaker during the 37th annual Genealogy and Family History Conference at Brigham Young University Tuesday through Friday, July 26-29, in the BYU Conference Center.

Sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m. each day in the Conference Center, located at 770 East University Parkway. Registration is $322 for BYU credit and $175 for all others. Registration is available at genealogyconferences.byu.edu or by calling 801-422-8925.

Lloyd DeWitt Bockstruck, genealogical columnist and genealogy section supervisor of the Dallas Public Library, will also be a featured speaker.

Attendees will be instructed in eight information tracks: beginning family history, family history center support, computers, Europe/Nordic research, British research, U.S. research, methodology and publishing family histories.
