Voucher's namesake, mother featured in magazine
The Smiths are featured in the article "Victory," an account of their two-year fight to get the Carson Smith Special Needs Scholarships into Utah's lawbooks.
"Parents are the ones that make things happen, because they have the passion and the emotional drive to make it happen for their kids," Cheryl Smith was quoted as saying. "I never thought it was possible, but one person can make a difference. It's crazy."
Carson Smith attends the well-respected, $23,000-a-year Carmen B. Pingree School for Children with Autism.
