Totally Awesome Computers owner Dell Buck Schanze was booked at the Salt Lake County Jail late Wednesday, and Thursday he entered a not-guilty plea to charges of reckless driving and threatening or using a dangerous weapon in a fight.
Schanze was charged in 3rd District Court in early June with the two misdemeanors after an incident in Draper. He allegedly sped through a neighborhood and flashed a gun after witnesses confronted him about his speeding.
According to court documents, those confronting him threatened to break Schanze's taillights with a rock and he pulled out a handgun.
Schanze, whose daughter was in the car with him, maintains he showed the gun in self-defense.
Draper Police Sgt. Gerry Allred said Schanze received a summons to the jail so he could have a booking photo and his fingerprints taken. He was not incarcerated.
