Rachelle Joseph of Sandy has been crowned Mrs. Utah Globe 2005. As Mrs. Utah, Joseph will represent Utah at the next Mrs. U.S. Globe contest July 15-25. If chosen Mrs. U.S., Joseph will represent the United States at the international 2006 Mrs. Globe.

The Mrs. Utah Globe contest is a fund-raiser for the Women in Need Foundation, a nonprofit crisis counseling and educational outreach for women faced with abuse. As Mrs. Utah, Joseph is now the official Utah spokeswoman for the WIN foundation.

Joseph plans to bring a message of hope and healing to abuse victims as the state WIN spokeswoman. "Abuse is one of the worst-kept secrets. It affects twice as many women as does breast cancer," she said. "As the new Mrs. Utah, I hope to share the message that abuse is not a disease but a learned behavior; therefore, the power to heal is within our reach."

The Mrs. Globe pageant is the only one to offer married women the opportunity to compete at an international pageant every year. More than 40 married women, each representing her respective country, will be at the one-hour live telecast. Mrs. Globe will air to more than 35 countries around the world.

Any organizations interested in having the new Mrs. Utah Globe visit their events or groups can call toll free 1-866-588-2WIN.
