From Deseret News archives:
4 finalists for president of Dixie State
Regents may decide Tuesday among 3 Utahns, Nevadan
The four finalists were recommended by the Presidential Search Committee of regents and Dixie faculty, students and community members. They came from a pool of 74 candidates representing 31 states, the regents reported.
"The search committee was pleased with the number and quality of candidates who were nominated or who applied," said Regent Jerry C. Atkin, the search committee chairman. "We are recommending four highly qualified individuals, any one of which will be a great president."
Regents will meet at Dixie on Tuesday morning to interview the finalists in private and could announce a selection later that day.
