Plenty of opportunities for Utahns to whoop it up on July 4

North Ogden: Cherry Days 2005, June 27 - July 2, Golf tournament. June 29 - July 2, softball tournament. July 1, 6 p.m., roping jackpot, equestrian park. July 2, 10 a.m. skate competition. July 4, 7-10 a.m., Kiwanis breakfast at the North Ogden Park, 5K fun run and mayor's walk; 9 a.m., junior baseball game, North Ogden Park grandstand, Dutch oven cook-off, North Ogden Park; 9:30 a.m., children's parade, 2600 N. Washington Blvd.; 10 a.m., Cherry Days parade, 2850 N. Washington Blvd.; 10:30 a.m., junior softball games, North Ogden Park grandstand; 11 a.m., food and game booths, car show, Dutch oven cook-off; 11:30 a.m., flag raising; noon, volleyball, entertainment, swimming, softball, baseball; 7 p.m., Eclipx, followed by fireworks, Weber High football stadium, 782-7211.

Ogden: July 4, 10 a.m., monster trucks show, rides, Rock Crawlers; 2 p.m., opening show followed by a demolition derby, custom bike show, motorcycle rodeo and fireworks at dusk, Ogden Pioneer Stadium; East Park activities throughout the day: Tree House American Exhibit, car show, inflatable rides, entertainment by Quick Draw and Kapp Brothers, 629-8150.

Plain City: July 2, 6:30 p.m., neighbors meet at Town Square, dinner. July 4, 7 a.m., flag ceremony, breakfast, booths open after the parade, 10 a.m., horseshoe tournament; noon, Plain City polo; 5:30 p.m., softball; 8-9:30 p.m., Hear Your Neighbors, Freemont Stadium; 10 p.m., fireworks, 731-4086.

Riverdale: July 4, 7 a.m., sunrise service; 7:30 a.m., Lion's Club breakfast, 5K run/walk; 9:30 a.m., parade, 4400 S. 700 West; 11 a.m.-2 p.m., carnival, kids' games, entertainment; dusk, fireworks, 4300 S. Parker Drive 621-6084.
