Hatch bill targets Net sex offenders

As part of National Internet Safety Month, Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, joined business and community leaders Friday to give parents advice on avoiding sexual predators. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) is also launching a national campaign.

Hatch highlighted his bill, SB1086, the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, which would make Internet solicitation a sex crime and force the convicted offender to register with the state's sex offender registry.

Parents can go to www.incredibleinternet.com and www.netsmartz.org to learn about protecting their children against Internet predators.
