A section of I-80 was closed Monday due to emergency bridge repair after pieces of concrete fell on the road below.
Two lanes of eastbound I-80 between 800 East and 1200 East are closed while UDOT repairs the overpass, a project they expect to take more than a day.
The onramp from 700 East to eastbound I-80 is also closed.
UDOT hopes to reopen the road as soon as possible, but encourages motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes to avoid heavy delays until the repairs are completed.
Updates on the closure can be found online at www.commuterlink.utah.gov and by calling Utah's free travel information line at 511.
