Utah State University Research Foundation's Technology Commercialization Office and Innovation Campus has founded a Venture Accelerator Club in Cache Valley.

The club is designed to be a forum for inventors and entrepreneurs to share and develop ideas, gain support, network and learn of investing opportunities. Proposals of ideas and business plans can be submitted to the club for review. If accepted, the entrepreneur/inventor will be able to present ideas to club members at meetings.

The club will consider proposals for technology-based businesses emanating from USU and other regional universities, as well as those from the general public in northern Utah.

The club initially plans to meet quarterly. Proposals for potential presentation to the VAC can be sent to Steven J. Kubisen, Technology Commercialization Office, Utah State University Research Foundation, 570 Research Parkway, Suite 101, North Logan, 84341 or tco@usurf.usu.edu. Details are available by calling 435-797-9607.

The club's founding members are Paul Campbell, chief executive officer of Campbell Scientific; Jim Laub, CEO of Cache Valley Electric: Larry Miller, president of L.W. Miller Cos.; Oren Phillips, retired vice president of business development for ATK Thiokol; Dr. Rex Spendlove, founder of Hyclone and CEO of Spendlove Research Foundation; and Steve Stokes, principal of Team Properties and Finance Corp.
