Police have charged a man who allegedly stole a suitcase full of clothing at the airport and then took the items to a consignment store.
Employees at the Holladay consignment store, near 2300 E. 4800 South, had heard from the suitcase's owner earlier and notified police. The items brought in by the man for consignment closely matched that of the woman's description, according to court documents.
The clothing was valued at $3,000. The man was arrested when he returned to the store.
He is charged with one count of theft, a third-degree felony, and attempted theft by deception, a class A misdemeanor.
