A man who was reportedly threatening to shoot someone shot himself Friday.
Just after 9 p.m. Friday, police located the man, 28, wandering through a Rose Park neighborhood, near 800 N. 1600 West, waving a gun in the air, said Salt Lake Police Lt. Sandra Urry.
Following a short foot chase into Riverside Park, the man "fired one round, hitting himself in the torso," Urry said. The man was taken to a local hospital. There weren't a lot of witnesses, and because of conflicting reports, police were working to piece together the circumstances.
