Lectures on Smith set

The new Education Institute at This Is the Place Heritage Park, 2601 E. Sunnyside Ave., is scheduling a summerlong Friday-evening lecture series honoring Joseph Smith. All lectures will be at 7 p.m. in Smoot Hall and are included with admission to the park. There will be no lecture the weekend of the Pioneer Days celebration.

June 10: "Lucy Mack Smith," Scot and Maurine Proctor

June 17: "In Search of Joseph: What Did Joseph Smith Look Like?"

June 24: "Hyrum Smith: A Life of Integrity," Jeffrey O'Driscoll

July 1: "Joseph Smith: Stories for Children," Richard E. Turley Jr.

July 8: "Sealing the Testimony: Willard Richards, Eyewitness Account of the Martyrdom," Ted Gibbons

July 15: "Stand By My Servant Joseph," Heidi Swinton

July 29: "Joseph Smith Among the Prophets," Mark McConkie

Aug. 5: "Joseph Smith: Impressions of Prophet," Liz Lemon Swindle

Aug. 12: "Joseph Smith: A Prisoner in Missouri," Susan Easton Black

Aug. 19: "Prophetic Destiny: The Saints in the Rocky Mountains"

Aug. 24: "Joseph Smith's Vision for Family History and Temple Work," Jimmy Parker.
