OREM — Ronnie Price has received many accolades during his three years at Utah Valley State. The greatest reward came when he recently received a phone call inviting him to participate in the Chicago pre-draft camp June 7-14.

"I'm speechless," Price said. "When I got the phone call I called anyone and everyone. I was overwhelmed and real excited."

The top 55 to 75 college, high school and international players participate in the camp. Price said he is excited to play with many of the top athletes he has watched on TV.

"It will be real fun to match up against them," Price said. "It is going to be a real competitive atmosphere and a lot of fun."

Price has received a lot of recognition during his senior season. He finished the year third in the nation in scoring at 24.3 points per game. He was named to the All-District 8 team and was the Division I Independent Player of the year. Price also participated in the Portsmouth Invitational in April where he impressed many NBA scouts.

"Ronnie's been carving a reputation throughout the season," Utah Valley State coach Dick Hunsaker said. "Now it is starting to get serious. From a guard standpoint, only the elite get the opportunity to showcase themselves at the pre-draft camp in Chicago. The invite is Ronnie's highest compliment thus far."

Price has already worked out for the Utah Jazz and Detroit Pistons.
