The Utah Department of Transportation has opened Monte Cristo Pass for the summer season. The pass runs on U-39 from milepost 37 in Weber County to milepost 68 in Rich County.
The road will remain open through fall 2005. Heavy snowfall on the mountain pass exceeds UDOT's capacity to clean and maintain it for travel during the winter months.
