FAIRFIELD, Utah In celebration of Memorial Day, which is Monday, Camp Floyd State Park is hosting a Civil War encampment Saturday through Monday. The Utah Civil War Association will be at the park with period uniforms and equipment. Visitors can tour the camp and witness battle re-enactments, drilling, cannon fire and more.
A flag retirement will take place at the Camp Floyd Cemetery on May 28 at dusk. Those who have a flag that needs to be retired are welcome to bring it out that night and participate in the ceremony.
Camp Floyd State Park is located in Fairfield on U-73 approximately 22 miles southwest of Lehi. Call 768-8932 for information.
