OKLAHOMA CITY Zach Sorensen's RBI in the fifth inning proved to be all the scoring Salt Lake would need to beat the Oklahoma RedHawks 3-2 in a Pacific Coast League game on Friday night.
After Jeff Mathis' lead-off homer tied the game at 1-1, Sorensen singled, scoring Nick Goreault and Luke Allen for the Stingers' 3-1 lead.
Jason Conti homered to bring Oklahoma (21-21) to within one at 3-2, but the RedHawks didn't score again.
Jason Botts' RBI single gave the RedHawks their only advantage in the game a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
Clayton Andrews (2-0) allowed six hits and two runs while striking out four in six innings for the Stingers (22-17). Joel Peralta earned his seventh save.
John Hudgins (1-2) allowed five hits and three runs while striking out three in 6 1/3 innings for Oklahoma.
