Dennis Koestecki (Readers' Forum, May 18) compares conservative talk show hosts to "Nazis" who use the word "liberal" to bait people. How does that differ from his own serial vilification of conservatives in the News' public forum? G. Don Gale (editorial, May 7) complains about the uncivil nature of talk radio, while he simultaneously compares KSL talk radio to "Hitler." The irony speaks volumes.
What both fail to comprehend is that much of the appeal of conservative radio is its parody of the piety of the left. I don't consider myself particularly conservative, and I generally don't listen to talk radio, but I have a hard time getting upset over Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly when the Howard Sterns and the Michael Moores of the world are so much worse in their venom and so much more oblivious to their own hypocrisy.
