What's next for BRAC

• July 1 — The comptroller general submits its analysis of Rumsfeld's base closure and realignment recommendations.

• Sept. 8 — The BRAC commission submits to President Bush its recommendations on which bases to close or realign.

• Sept. 23 — The president approves or rejects the commission's recommendations in their entirety. If approved by the president, they are forward to Congress and become binding unless Congress disapproves them.
