Fraser Bullock, founder and managing director of Sorenson Capital and the former president and chief executive officer of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, will be the featured speaker at the Thursday awards lunch honoring 18 high-tech innovations and the Utah companies that created them.
The 2005 Utah Innovation Awards will take place at noon in the University of Utah's Olpin Union Ballroom. It will be the centerpiece of the Edison Conference, a daylong event that will include presentations by industry leaders and a showcase of Utah innovations.
The awards are a statewide program sponsored by Wasatch Digital iQ magazine, the Utah Engineering Experiment Station, the Utah Information Technology Association and the business law firm Stoel Rives LLP, with support from MountainWest Capital Network and the Utah Life Science Association.
During the lunch, six winners will be named one from each award category. Details at www.stoel.com/innovation.
The cost for the lunch only is $40 per person. The conference registration fee is $95. Conference and lunch registration can be completed at www.utah.edu/uees.
