Weber State University recently received $200,000 in federal money to fund improvements to a forensic science lab to teach the latest techniques in biological evidence analysis.

The lab's new equipment will offer students more hands-on learning with forensic DNA analysis. In the future, WSU officials hope the lab will serve as a training facility for local and state criminal justice professionals.

WSU is working on public and private partnerships to establish ongoing funding for the project.
