BLAINE, Minn. The BYU lacrosse team is the No. 1 seed among collegiate lacrosse clubs, entering the national championship tournament this week.
Utah Valley State is the No. 2 seed in the division for smaller schools.
The Cougars will play the No. 16 seed, Texas Tech, on Tuesday afternoon in the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minn.
The Division B tournament begins Thursday. No. 2 UVSC will play No. 7 Calvin College (Mich.).
NCAA VOLLEYBALL: Top-seeded Pepperdine won its first NCAA men's volleyball championship since 1992 on Saturday night, beating UCLA at Pauley Pavilion.
2004 champion BYU was not at the NCAA tournament to defend its title, having lost in the first round of its conference tournament.
