BYU will broadcast sessions of Joseph Smith symposium

PROVO — BYU broadcasting — www.byubroadcasting.org — will provide a live video and audio stream of "The Worlds of Joseph Smith" symposium today and Saturday from the Coolidge Auditorium of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.

Opening: Comments and orientation (9:30 a.m.)

Session 1: Joseph Smith in His Own Time — Richard L. Bushman: "Joseph Smith's Many Histories"

Session 2: Joseph Smith and the Recovery of Past Worlds — Terryl L. Givens: "Joseph Smith: Prophecy, Process and Plentitude"

Evening session: Joseph Smith in a Personal World (7:15-8:30 p.m.) — Elder Dallin H. Oaks, The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Saturday

Session 1: Joseph Smith Challenges the Theological World (9-11:30 a.m.) — David L. Paulsen: "Joseph Smith Challenges the Christian Theological World"

Session 2: Joseph Smith and the Making of a Global Religion (1:30-4 p.m.) — Douglas J. Davies: "World Religion: Dynamics and Constraints"
