MIDVALE ARTS COUNCIL is holding auditions on Monday, 4-6 p.m. in the Midvale Performing Arts Center, 695 W. Center St., for the Missoula Children's Theatre production of "The Frog Prince," to be staged May 14 at 3 and 7 p.m.
All students, K-12, are encouraged to audition. Those auditioning should plan to stay for the full two hours. Some cast members may be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the auditions. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors and technical help will also be selected.
Missoula Children's Theatre is renowned for its fast-track productions, auditioning large ensembles of children on a Monday and staging the productions six days later. MCT's touring team provides costumes, scenery, props and makeup. Rehearsals will be held daily, 4-8:30 p.m., throughout the week.
ALPINE COMMUNITY THEATER will hold auditions for "Annie Warbucks," the rarely performed sequel to "Annie," on May 14 in Timberline Middle School, 500 W. Canyon Crest Road, Alpine. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. (each age group should plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled audition slot):
9-10 a.m., girls, 6-8 years old
10-11 a.m., girls, 9-10
11 a.m.-noon, girls, 11-12
noon-1 p.m., girls, 13-14
1-2 p.m., girls and boys, 15-19
2-3 p.m., men, 19-75
3-4 p.m., women, 19-75
All adults and youths in the 15-19 age range will also be cast for the chorus and dance ensemble.
Come prepared to sing a one- or two-minute selection. Bring your own music. Accompanists will be provided if needed. There will also be cold readings from the script. Be prepared to learn some dance steps.
Musicians are also needed, particularly pianists, bass, cello, violins, drums, percussion, guitar, banjo, keyboard, saxophone, clarinet, flute, English horn, oboe, trombone and trumpet (contact Victor Neves at 763-9915 or Victor@bandtek.com).
