A man and his girlfriend were charged in 3rd District Court on Tuesday after police found counterfeit identification documents in their home.
The Midvale couple were involved in a civil dispute when police were called to the home. A small amount of drugs was observed by the responding officer, and a search of the home ensued.
According to court documents, police located approximately 30 Utah identification cards and drivers' licenses, 45 counterfeit checks, numerous checkbooks, several allegedly stolen credit cards and a stolen concealed weapons permit in the couple's bedroom.
They are charged with four counts of possession of a forged writing, one count of possession of a forgery device, one count of unlawful acquisition and possession of a financial transaction card, one count of unlawful possession of another's identification documents, all third-degree felonies. They also are charged with class B possession of drug paraphernalia.
