Utah's first radio station for women to debut

KUTR (AM-820), Utah's newest radio station, is hoping to go on the air in early May as the state's first and only radio station geared exclusively to women.

The lineup of personalities for AM-820 is guaranteed to surprise just about anyone. There's not a name in the new station's lineup that I would have expected to see. Most of the programming is local, with a few syndicated shows mixed in.

The new station — a sister station of KSL-AM and a Bonneville International property — has Utah-based composer and musical performer Kurt Bestor as a weekdays, 6-9 a.m. morning co-host.

Paired with Rebecca Cressman, a former KBYU TV and radio host with 15 years' experience, they combine to host the "Wakin' Up With Rebecca and Kurt" show.

KUTR also has an intriguing afternoon talk show, "Ask a Woman," weekdays, noon-3 p.m. It will be hosted by three women on a rotating basis: Enid Greene , former U.S. congresswoman from Utah; Connie Sokol, author and TV/radio host; and Holly Mullen, columnist for The Salt Lake Tribune.

The "Dr. Liz Hale Show" will be weekdays from 9 a.m.-noon. After working as a clinical psychologist in Seattle, she moved to Salt Lake City and has developed and managed an eating disorders clinic for LDS Family Services.

"The Rabbi Schmuley Boteach Show" airs each weekday from 3-6 p.m. This is a live program for KUTR only.
