Salt Lake Valley mayors are beginning a campaign to address underage drinking — starting with the signing of a proclamation Thursday.

Mayors from 16 cities will sign their names one-by-one to the proclamation, which outlines policies and goals for curbing underage drinking.

The goal is to "redefine societal norms regarding underage drinking, create zero-tolerance policies for retailers who sell alcohol to minors, and foster healthy communities for the youth of Salt Lake," according to a press release.

The signing will be at 12:15 p.m. at Sandy City Hall.
