Huntsman names 8 to business board

Utah Gov. Jon M. Huntsman Jr. has appointed eight new board members to fill vacancies on the Utah Board of Business and Economic Development.

The new board members are: Bill Boyle, publisher and editor of the San Juan Record in Monticello; Jack Brittain, dean of the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah; Mary D. Draper, development officer of the Utah Museum of Natural History and director of the Robert W. and Barbara J. Keener Foundation; Molonai Hola, owner and president of Icon Corp., a defense contracting company; Mel S. Lavitt, vice chairman and managing director of C.E. Unterberg, Towbin, a company that funds and advises growth companies; Richard R. Nelson, president and chief executive officer of the Utah Information Technology Association; Amy Rees Lewis, owner and director of Globerian, a company located in Delhi, India, that provides offshore business process outsourcing to U.S.-based businesses, and chief executive of Mediconnect, an online medical record retrieval company; and Gerald R. Sherratt, mayor of Cedar City and president emeritus of Southern Utah University.

The new appointments have been confirmed by the Utah Senate.

The 15-member board also includes David Simmons, Joel A. Bradford, Dell Loy Hansen, Mark D. Howell, Jerry Oldroyd, Debra Tanzi and Clifford White.

On July 1, the board will change from a policy to an advisory board.
