TUCSON, Ariz. — Juan Brito drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as the Tucson Sidewinders beat the Salt Lake Stingers 9-7 Monday night.

In the decisive seventh inning, Tucson's Doug DeVore reached base on reliever Eric Cyr's two-base throwing error. DeVore advanced to third on a base hit and scored on Brito's fielder's choice to break a 7-7 tie.

Alan Zinter added an RBI single in the eighth for an insurance run.

Curtis Pride's two-run homer in the first inning had given the Stingers a 2-0 lead.

Tucson tied it in the third on Brian Barden's two-run single.

Salt Lake went up 5-2 when Jeff Mathis hit a solo homer in the fourth inning and added an RBI single in the fifth.

But Barden's RBI single and Josh Kroeger's three-run homer in the fifth put the Sidewinders back ahead 6-5.

MCPHERSON RECALLED: Earlier in the day, the Los Angeles Angels placed starting catcher Bengie Molina on the 15-day disabled list and recalled rookie third baseman Dallas McPherson from Salt Lake.
