Rey scores twice to help Wizards tie up MetroStars

Wolyniec assists both of Rey's goals as Kansas City rallies

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Sergio Galvan Rey scored his second goal of the game in the 60th minute to help the MetroStars rally for a 2-2 tie with the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday night.

Jack Jewsbury gave Kansas City (1-0-1) the early lead when he scored off a deflection in the 20th minute. The Wizards scored again 11 minutes later, when Chris Klein beat goalie Zach Wells.

The MetroStars (0-0-2) cut the lead to 2-1 when Rey beat Kansas City goalie Bo Oshoniyi in the 44th minute, and he tied the game 16 minutes later.

Both of Rey's goals came off passes from John Wolyniec.

FC Dallas 3, Chivas USA 1: At Carson, Calif., Carlos Ruiz and Ed Johnson scored in the last five minutes, leading FC Dallas to a victory over Chivas USA.

Ronnie O'Brien opened the scoring in the 40th minute, Ruiz added a goal in the 85th minute and Johnson completed the scoring in the 90th minute for Dallas (1-1-0).

Thiago Thiba Martins took a pass from Ramon Ramirez and scored on a header in the first half for Chivas USA (0-2-1).

Dallas' Ryan Suarez was knocked unconscious when he collided with Chivas USA goalkeeper Brad Guzan in the second period. Chivas spokesman Keegan Pierce said Suarez regain consciousness within 5 minutes of being taken from the field on a stretcher and was taken to a hospital for additional tests.

There was no immediate word on the extent of Suarez's injuries.

FIRE 2, EARTHQUAKES 1: At Chicago, Thiago scored in the first minute of injury time, leading Chicago to its first win in three games.

The Fire (1-1-1) opened the scoring in the 58th minute, when Nate Jaqua scored on a header.

Alejandro Moreno scored for the Earthquakes (0-1-2) in the 82nd minute.
