The state office is trying to round up superintendents for a chat on subgroup size. The idea is to give input before the special legislative session.

And Harrington believes she'll get firm direction from lawmakers Wednesday on how to implement HB135.

Meanwhile, Park invites the public to do its homework on U-PASS.

"Get into our Web site (www.usoe.org) and view our documents," Park said.

"The process for U-PASS has been very open. Every draft has been posted on the Web site. We sent out fliers, and e-mails were encouraging people to be part of it, give input. . . . I wouldn't want people to get the sense we've developed something and not been sharing or letting people know what it is."

By Friday morning, U-PASS content had been pulled from the site. Spokesman Mark Peterson said it was being routinely updated when workers hit a glitch.

"It should be up no later than Monday at noon," Peterson said. "(Park) wanted it letter-perfect to go into the special session next week . . . and it didn't get done in time.

"There's going to be a lot of eyes focused on it next week."
