A hang-glider sustained severe head injuries Thursday when he nose-dived while trying to land.
The Bountiful man, 66, an experienced hang-glider, was at the Point of the Mountain at 6 p.m. with other hang-gliders, who they saw him make a landing attempt during turbulent conditions, said Draper police spokesman Kurt Imig. He said when the man put his feet down, the glider flew forward, causing them both to hit the ground with force.
Imig said the man was airlifted to LDS Hospital with suspected trauma to his brain.
