Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon has called a press conference for today regarding the seemingly endless controversies and scandals that keep cropping up in county government.

"We're working hard to uncover problems, and we're working hard to solve them," he said. "I'm giving us a year — after that, if those problems are still there, they're our own" rather than those inherited from previous administrations.

"It may get worse before it gets better," chief administrative officer Doug Willmore warned. "There's going to be nothing hidden. The dirty laundry will get aired. Have faith, there are better times ahead."
