A Heber City man who claimed he was injured while at work was charged in 3rd District Court with fraudulently obtaining workers compensation insurance.

The 37-year-old was seen skiing in a videotape made by a Workers Compensation Fund investigator. The worker had said he was not able to return to work, court documents state.

He received $3,024 in benefits he allegedly was not entitled to and now faces the third-degree felony, which could result in a $5,000 fine and up to five years in prison.
