SOFTBALL: At Las Vegas, Utah (12-19, 1-5) has lost three straight after falling to UNLV in a Mountain West Conference doubleheader Sunday, 10-0 and 4-3. Ute pitchers Brianna Gourdin (8-8) and Lindsie Nielsen (4-10) each took a loss. Gourdin allowed 11 hits in Game 1 and seven earned runs. She did strike out four UNLV batters to go along with four walks. Nielsen gave up six hits and four runs in Game 2. Only two runs were earned as she struck out three opposing batters. Devina Quintero went 3-for-5 with all three RBI and a home run. Kelly Matthews (2 for 3) and Diana Phillips (2 for 7) also had multiple hits.
TRACK: At the Weber State Wildcat Invitational on Saturday, Utah claimed three victories. Junior Vanessa Mortensen won the hammer throw for the second straight meet, throwing 57.45 meters. Sophomore Amanda Feigt won the long jump with a distance of 5.61 meters. Junior AJ Roby claimed the women's third victory by throwing 42.98 meters in the discus. For the men, senior Delfino Arevalo won the 5,000 meter run with a time of 14:59.41.
Utah Valley State
BASEBALL: Due to heavy snowstorms in Greeley, Colo., Sunday's final game of a three-game series between Utah Valley State and Northern Colorado was cancelled. The two teams split a doubleheader Saturday. The Wolverines will be back in action on Tuesday at home against the University of Utah at 7 p.m. and Wednesday against Lewis & Clark State at 2 p.m.
AWARDS: The Utah Valley State athletic department will hold its annual Hall-of-Fame and awards banquet on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the McKay Center. The event is open to the public. Cost is $20 a plate. Utah Valley State radio broadcaster Steve Watts and former women's basketball star Tricia Ferrin will be inducted into the Hall-of-Fame.

TRACK: Tiffany Strickland and Katie Thatcher were Utah State's only first-place finishers at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Thatcher ran the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.13. Strickland set a new school record in the women's 3,000m Steeplechase with a time of 10:43.94.
SOFTBALL: Utah State scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning while attempting a late rally, but USU (10-23, 2-10) fell to UC Santa Barbara 11-3 in six innings in Logan on Sunday afternoon. USU recorded only two hits through the first five innings. UCSB's Jennifer Davis struck out 12 Aggie batters. The Aggies continue their busy week with a game at Utah on Wednesday and home dates with Colorado State on Thursday and UC Riverside on Saturday and Sunday.
