Utah County Demos name new director

PROVO — The Utah County Democratic Party has named Heather Pope as its new executive director. Her appointment will be announced at the Utah County Democratic Convention to be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the Provo City Council Chambers at 351 W. Center.

Vaughn R. Cook, the Utah County Democratic Party chairman, said, "Utah County Democrats are making significant progress in building a strong grass-roots organization. Hiring Heather as our executive director adds sharper focus to these efforts with an emphasis on candidate recruitment and fund raising."

At Friday's convention, Utah County party officers will be elected and several of the candidates for state party officers will be introduced. Anyone wanting to get involved is welcome to attend.
