A private investor has purchased 16 Sonic franchises and plans to open more of the drive-in fast-food restaurants.
Salt Lake-based United Mergers and Acquisitions sold the restaurants — which are located in Utah and Idaho — to Rick Timmons of Salt Lake City, according to a prepared statement released Tuesday.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Timmons said in a prepared statement that he would further develop the Sonic brand.
