Do you spend your time laden with guilt because you can never seem to get your housework done? Why do you think this happens? You don't have routines!
If your routines were written out and you used them as a guide to help you through your day, then you would have more time to focus on the special things in life, like living and loving yourself and your family.
This guilt is causing you to get sidetracked! There is so much to do and you have no clue where to even start. Then you jump from one job to the next, never finishing to first one you started. This vicious cycle has got to stop! Do you hear me? Life is too short to stand around in indecision, scratching your head, being pitiful and unproductive, not to mention whining.
Clutter is also stealing your precious time. Clutter cannot be organized. It can only be eliminated. Get rid of clutter and you will find the time that you need to bless yourself and your family.
This is why I start you in your kitchen, tell you to get dressed to your shoes, fix your hair and face and then finish your morning routine. Accomplish this and you have a great beginning to your day and the rest of your life. Once your routines become automatic, you will FLY through your morning routine and evening routines without even thinking about the work that you are doing.
I don't expect you to do full-blown routines in a week's time. Babysteps help to establish your routines into lifelong habits. These are your foundations. Your foundation has to be sound in order to build upon it. If not, your home will fall in pieces around you. Oh! You were looking for the key to unlock the CHAOS in your life and toss it out the door once and for all time!
So, you are wondering what bricks make up your foundation. The first row of habits are very simple ones.
- Lay your clothes out before you go to bed.
- Shine your sink and keep it that way.
- Get dressed every morning, when your feet hit the floor.
- Wear your lace-up shoes.
- Fix your hair and face every day as you get dressed.
- Wear clothes that make you feel good, not frumpy.
- Declutter for 15 minutes each day.
Your second row of bricks should not be laid until you have made sure that the first row is securely in place. If you start this second level before you have established your foundation habits, your structure is going to be weak! Weak structures crumble and fall. It is not fun to continually be laying your foundation on weak bricks.
