There seems to be little question about the evils of pornography. Society as a whole has made laws against it. Church leaders have spoken out against it. As a federal agent, I investigated those involved in trafficking in child pornography. I saw firsthand the tragedy in the lives of those who succumbed to these evil influences.
With this background, I am puzzled why the Marriott Corp. and other hotel chains continue to promote this obscenity in our society by allowing pornographic films to be shown in their hotel rooms. I truly doubt those on the boards of directors of these large corporations would allow it in their own homes.
The Marriott Corp. has been very generous to schools and communities alike. But I shudder to think that some of their contributions have probably been generated from sales of pornography in their hotel rooms. I have never heard a rebuttal or explanation given by corporations. Their silence is deafening.
