Duke had little trouble in this one, shooting 54 percent and taking a 53-30 rebounding advantage against its undersized opponent. Canisius shot just 25 percent for the game.

The Blue Devils, who are making their 11th straight NCAA appearance, are trying to return to the Final Four for the third time in four seasons.

TENNESSEE 94, WESTERN CAROLINA 43: At Knoxville, Tennessee coach Pat Summitt's latest milestone victory was similar to so many others in her illustrious 31-year career. The Lady Vols' 94-43 rout of Western Carolina in an NCAA first-round game Sunday night was win No. 879 for Summitt, tying her with Dean Smith for the most victories in NCAA Division I history. Former North Carolina coach Smith set the record in 1997, and Summitt could surpass it Tuesday against Purdue in the second round. Summitt's record is 879-171. Smith went 879-254 in 36 years with the Tar Heels.

BOSTON COLLEGE 65, HOUSTON 43: At Chapel Hill, N.C, Clare Droesch scored a season-high 23 points to lift seventh-seeded Boston College. LSU 70, STETSON 36: At Knoxville, Tenn., Temeka Johnson scored 15 points, Seimone Augustus added 14 and LSU took its first step in the tournament with an easy win. LSU (30-2), which has won eight straight first-round tournament games, grabbed the top seed despite losing to Tennessee 67-65 in the Southeastern Conference championship game two weeks ago. The Lady Tigers play No. 9 Arizona in the second round Tuesday.

Kristy Brown led 16th-seeded Stetson (17-14) with 17 points.
